This option is for students and families who are seeking individualized support for every step of the college admissions journey. Dr. Casey Quirarte will work with a handful of high school students and their families through the entire college admissions process. This intimate and individualized approach ensures no stone is left unturned with regard to selecting, applying, and being admitted to the college that is just right for your child. Working together, we can make sure your child's dreams for college come true. The services below can be customized to meet the unique needs of your family. Please contact me with inquiries.
School selection. (Junior Year) In order for you to choose the school that is the best fit for your child, I will build a profile for your student to access strengths and goals, determining an area of study that meets your child's goals and aligns with his or her potential. From there, I will develop a list of questions that will be important to ask admissions departments and current students while visiting potential campuses. I will arrange campus visits for your family and contact coaches or program directors whom your child might have an interest in connecting with as he or she narrows down the final few school choices. Chaperoned college visits for families with limited time to visit campuses as a family are a possibility as well.
Admissions timeline. (Senior Year) Once your child has selected a number of schools which align with his or her individual career and learner profile, I will research schools of interest to determine the requirements for admission, materials needed, and deadlines for submission of the various components. I will support you in organizing all application materials, request letters of recommendation, gather transcripts, and compile a comprehensive admissions portfolio before the application season is underway. A detailed admissions timeline will make sure no part of the admissions process is overlooked or forgotten. College essay writing. (October of Senior Year) This is the most personalized part of the college admissions process. With your child competing against tens of thousands of other applicants for a small number of openings in each admissions class, he or she needs to stand out as being more memorable than just his or her GPA and SAT score. I will gain access to the admissions essay questions the moment they are released, and work with your child to craft beautiful, memorable responses that reflect his or her unique individuality to the admissions committee. Scholarship search & application (Additional Option). Our work does not necessarily stop once the admissions application is complete. For some families, financing college represents a significant hardship if a child is a full-tuition paying student. Fortunately, there are many scholarship opportunities offered by universities, organizations, and even corporations. I will work to find scholarship options that your child qualifies for and help him or her complete the lengthy scholarship applications to help alleviate some of the costs for books and tuition. Freshman fall transition (Additional Option). For those a little anxious about jumping all the way in to their first semester of college, fear not! Once you are admitted, I am still available to support you in navigating the college catalogue, determining which classes you need to take, working out your class schedule, determining what books to purchase, and getting you everything you need to start off on the right foot. Throughout your first year, I am even able to provide essay editing services remotely to ease you into writing at the collegiate level. |
